By then Ibach had became the longest operating piano works in the World. Last five workers built the last Ibach pianos in 2007 before the works were permanently closed. Even with this arrangement, the piano building could not be saved. In 1980s, after the wide decline of the industry started again, Ibach allied with Daewoo of South Korea. Especially 1960s and 1970s were two decades of success for Ibach. However, the temporary decline was halted after the WW2. Decline was intensified by a horseless carriage appearing to replace the earlier status symbol grand piano. Do you have any certificate when you buy your Weinbach? Thanks!!ĭigital Pianos - Electronic Pianos - Synths &a. The dealer can't show any detail specifications or certificate to convience me. This one could have a very beutiful sound. I do not have another Petrof to compare the sound in the mean time. I also check the felt color is green, same as for Weinbach, not red of Petrof. He said the action is also from Renner and aseembly in Czech. But I am wondering whether this new brand same as Weinbach or not.
But the local dealer showed an brand name "Petrof, Made for Weinbach" to me. I am looking a new grand piano and interested in Petrof. The Petrof action was lighter, since it had magnetic accelerated action, (not an option on Weinbachs). I had the chance to play Weinbachs and Petrofs side by side and, as each piano is different, the sound of my Weinbach beat that of a Petrof the same size. The other difference is that Weinbach does not have the same variety of model options. The only differences are cosmetic: the felt is green instead of red, the plate is dull gold instead of shiny, and the fallboard has a Weinbach decal instead of a beautifully inlaid Petrof. It was made in the exact same factory as the Petrofs and is functionally identical. At that point the Weinbach was not yet being made in Asia. I just bought a Weinbach in April of this year.
